The existing 4 bedroom property had a single storey double garage to the front. The Client was keen to maximize their space by extending over the garage to form a master bedroom, ensuite and 2 dressing rooms.
The scheme was problematic with the Planners. The form of the original scheme reduced the light to the neighbours adjacent. The Planners insisted that we drop the roof line. To achieve this, the upper floor became a large dormer in effect with a sympathetic design to the original house. The programme for this project was fast track with the Client commission coming in July for a site start in November. Delayed slightly by the extreme weather in December 2011 the project is nearing completion as at February 2011.
